A New Home for Association Leaders Across Asia-Pacific
The Asia-Pacific region is home to some of the world’s most dynamic economies, fastest-growing industries, and rapidly evolving professional communities. Associations across the region play a critical role in advancing industries, developing professions, advocating for change, and creating meaningful connections between people and organizations.
Yet despite the scale and influence of the association sector, one challenge has persisted: association leaders across Asia-Pacific have lacked a dedicated regional platform designed specifically for their needs.
While association executives in North America and Europe have long benefited from established professional bodies, regional benchmarks, and peer networks, leaders in Asia-Pacific have often had to navigate complex challenges without a comparable regional community. Many continue to rely on frameworks developed elsewhere—frameworks that do not always reflect the diversity, complexity, and realities of APAC markets.
The Asia Pacific Society of Association Executives (APSAE) was created to address that gap.
Why APSAE?
APSAE exists to elevate leadership capability, foster cross-regional collaboration, develop APAC-focused insights, and drive innovation across associations that shape industries and communities.
The region is diverse. Association leaders in Singapore, India, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines, and beyond face unique opportunities and challenges. Yet they also share common questions:
- How do we remain relevant in a rapidly changing world?
- How do we create sustainable revenue streams while maintaining trust?
- How do we engage increasingly diverse member communities?
- How do we embrace technology and AI while preserving human connection?
- How do we strengthen governance, leadership, and long-term impact?
- These are not challenges that can be solved in isolation.
APSAE believes that the future of association success in Asia-Pacific lies in collaboration, shared learning, and the exchange of practical experience across borders.
Built by Association Leaders, for Association Leaders
APSAE is designed to serve association CEOs, Executive Directors, Secretaries General, Presidents, senior staff, and emerging leaders throughout the region.
More than a membership organization, APSAE aims to become a trusted platform where leaders can connect with peers, access regionally relevant knowledge, share best practices, and contribute to the growth and professionalization of the association sector.
Over time, APSAE will support the community through leadership development, research, benchmarking, knowledge exchange, strategic partnerships, and industry events that address the realities of operating in Asia-Pacific.
The Journey Begins in Singapore
The official launch of APSAE will take place at the inaugural APSAE Summit on 24–25 July 2026 in Singapore.
Bringing together association leaders from across Asia-Pacific, the Summit will mark the beginning of a new regional community dedicated to advancing association excellence. Unlike traditional industry events, the APSAE Summit is built around a simple principle: associations learning from associations.
The Summit will provide a platform for candid conversations, practical insights, peer learning, and the formation of relationships that extend far beyond the event itself.
It will also mark the official opening of APSAE membership, welcoming the first generation of founding members who will help shape the future direction of the organization.
Looking Ahead
Our ambition is clear.
By the end of 2026, APSAE aims to establish a strong foundation for a thriving regional community, with members representing markets across Asia-Pacific, meaningful strategic partnerships, and a growing reputation as a trusted voice for association leadership in the region.
Most importantly, APSAE aims to create something that has been missing for too long: a home for association leaders across Asia-Pacific.
- A place to learn.
- A place to connect.
- A place to lead.
We invite association leaders, partners, and supporters from across the region to join us as founding members of this journey.
The future of association leadership in Asia-Pacific starts now.
